Brief of My Blog-

On this blog I will show how I have researched, planned, constructed and evaluated the making and completing of a music magazine LOUD.

The first task I carried out was the construction of a preliminary task; this was where I have to create a magazine for a school with a front page and content page, this designing helped me for the construction of my real magazine’s four pages front page, content page and double page spread as I could practice different ideas for a different magazine before carrying them out on the real magazine. The next task I did was the research of annotating examples of existing texts theses where three magazine front covers, three content pages and three double page spreads. I did this so I would get an idea of different magazine layouts and find out different codes and conventions of a magazine.

The next task I did was my quantitative audience’s survey this was where I created an online survey and sent it out by social media to have people I have aimed my magazine at to fill out the survey, this gave me results where I found out about my audience, I then paced the results into a presentation. The next piece of research I did was my audience profile this is where I placed pictures on to a document which represented my audience and added statistics of what I found out about them and their interest. The last research task I carried out was qualitative audience research this was where I used my flat plans to ask questions to a focus group and find out about the designs I made and which one I should use, this told me changes to make and how to present my magazine.

For my planning task I had to prepare for my magazine construction, the first task I did was a rough designs of my front page, content page and double page I did this by hand so it gave me ideas of how I created the actual magazine on the computer, I also annotated these ideas with codes and conventions. The next task I did was flats plans, this is my ideas put on the computer of how each page would look with each design present four times in different colours. I then took pictures which i needed to add into the magazine and created contact sheets of all the photos i took and selected the one i choose, i also with this create screenshots of the changes i made to the photo. With the quantitative audience survey i created i made a presentation, with the presentation i presented it to the class with the results i found out and what my magazine will be like. The last thing i did on the planning for my magazine was my photoshoot document this was where, how and hazards of my photo shoot.

The construction of my task was building my magazine, this was putting my research and planning together to help me make my magazine. First for my magazine i had to think of my colours to have and what should be where. After putting that on my front page, content page and double page spread i had stories which i needed to present on these pages. After setting up the layout and stories, i needed to add the photos which i had taken and finish up the final touches to the magazine. While making my magazine i needed to make sure i followed the conventions and making sure i had the magazine looking as professional as possible.

The last task i carried out to finish my music magazine was my evaluation of my whole task, this was answering seven questions on how i made my magazine and what i did.
